Principal Phil Haack
With more than 30 years of teaching and administrative experience, Mr. Phil Haack has held a variety of positions within the public and private education sectors. However, this is Haack’s first opportunity to be part of creating a preschool through grade 12 charter school from the ground up, and helping to revitalize the nearby Garfield Heights/Burton Park neighborhood in the process.
Haack has been involved in West Michigan’s academic leadership scene for nearly two decades. He served as Principal at St. Alphonsus Parish School in Grand Rapids from 1984 to 1995 and more recently, worked with Godwin Heights Public Schools in Wyoming from 1995 to 2011. During this time, he served as Director of Community Services and Director of Business and Employee Services for the district and Principal at West Godwin Elementary. Haack holds eight academic memberships as well as administrative certifications in the State of Michigan.
Haack holds a Master of Arts in Educational Administration from Michigan State University and a Bachelor of Science from Western Michigan University.
